Between Alma Armada & Company Ltd., a licensed Alberta employment agency, and an individual seeking employment. This agreement covers recruitment services only.

Prohibited Fees
Section 12 of the Employment Agency Business Licensing Regulation prohibits an employment agency business operator from directly or indirectly demanding or collecting a fee, reward or other compensation
a. from an individual who is seeking employment or from another person on that individual's behalf,
b. from an individual who is seeking information respecting employers seeking employees or from another person on that individual's behalf,
c. from an individual for securing or attempting to secure employment for the individual or providing the individual with information respecting any employer seeking employees or from another person on that individual's behalf, or
d. from an individual for evaluating or testing the individual, or arranging for the individual to be evaluated or tested, for skills or knowledge required for employment, where the individual or employment is in Alberta, or from another person on that individual's behalf.
1 What this agreement covers
Alma Armada & Company Ltd. (the “Company”) holds an employment agency business licence issued under the Consumer Protection Act (Alberta) and the Employment Agency Business Licensing Regulation (the “Regulation”). This agreement sets out the terms on which the Company will provide recruitment services to the individual named above (the “Individual”).
This agreement covers recruitment services only. It does not cover immigration services of any kind, including work permit applications, visa applications, permanent residence applications or representation before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Immigration services are provided only under a separate written retainer agreement with a licensed immigration consultant, entered into separately and voluntarily.
The Individual is not required to retain the Company, or any other person, for immigration services in order to receive the recruitment services described in this agreement.
2 Services the Company will provide
Under this agreement the Company will:
- create and maintain a profile for the Individual in the Company's candidate records;
- make that profile available to employers seeking employees, subject to section 7;
- provide the Individual with information about employers seeking employees, where the Company holds that information and it is relevant to the Individual;
- where the Individual consents, introduce the Individual to an employer and arrange for the employer to contact the Individual;
- tell the Individual, without delay, if the Company becomes aware that a position the Individual was introduced to is no longer available.
3 Responsibilities of the Company
The Company will:
- hold and maintain a valid Alberta employment agency business licence while this agreement is in force;
- charge the Individual no fee, reward or other compensation of any kind for the services in section 2, as set out in section 5;
- keep the Individual's personal information confidential in accordance with section 7;
- give the Individual a signed copy of this agreement when it is signed, as required by section 10(5) of the Regulation;
- retain a copy of this agreement for not less than seven years.
4 Responsibilities of the Individual
The Individual will:
- provide information that is accurate, complete and current, including work history, qualifications and contact details;
- tell the Company promptly if that information changes, or if the Individual is no longer seeking employment;
- respond to employers to whom the Individual has been introduced, whether or not the Individual wishes to proceed;
- tell the Company if the Individual accepts a position obtained through an introduction made by the Company.
5 No fee is payable by the Individual
The Individual pays nothing under this agreement. The Company does not, and will not, demand or collect any fee, reward or other compensation from the Individual, or from any other person on the Individual's behalf, for any of the services described in section 2. This includes any charge for creating or maintaining a profile, for uploading a résumé, for priority or featured placement, for verification, for skills evaluation or testing, or for information about employers seeking employees.
If any person asks the Individual to pay a fee of that kind in connection with this agreement, the Individual should contact the Company immediately using the details in section 10.
6 No guarantee of employment
The Company does not guarantee that the Individual will be offered employment, that any employer will contact the Individual, or that any particular position will be available. Hiring decisions are made by employers alone.
7 Personal information
The Company will collect, use and disclose the Individual's personal information only for the purpose of providing the services in section 2. The Individual's profile may be shown to employers who have been approved by the Company. The Individual's direct contact details will not be released to an employer without the Individual's consent.
The Individual may ask the Company at any time to correct the profile, to withdraw it from view, or to delete it.
8 Term and termination
This agreement takes effect on the date it is signed by both parties and continues until it is ended. Either party may end it at any time, for any reason, by written notice to the other. Ending this agreement costs the Individual nothing.
Sections 5, 7 and 11 continue to apply after this agreement ends.
9 Copy of this agreement
The Company will give the Individual a signed copy of this agreement at the time the Individual signs it. Where this agreement is accepted electronically, a copy will be sent to the email address given by the Individual at the time of acceptance.

11 Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta.
